Google Earth has partnered with organizations like the United Nations Environment Program and Discovery Network to enhance their maps with videos, photos and blogs. Among other things, users will be able to find out more about environmentally endangered locations, view historical data on the melting mountain snow caps and find information on thousands of park trails.

As CNET reports:
“The new video, photo and blog content is immediately available on Google Earth as part of the free download. All of the new content will be available under Google Earth’s “Layers” section.”
