Google Has Already Won

Last night, I finally found some time to watch TV. During the commercial break they showed the new Pontiac commercial. So they are advertising the new G6 model and then they say something like this “… but don’t take our word for it. Google “Pontiac” and see for yourself”. And they actually showed Google’s homepage. At that point I realized that Google has already won, no matter what Yahoo! and MSN Search do. They have won control over our minds and that is the most important victory I can think of. I know that no matter what others offer me, be it discounts or free prizes, I will use Google simply because it gives me the results I am looking for and others don’t.

And although some of Google’s other services may be questionable, in my opinion, there is no question about the quality of their search results.

    I saw the Pontiac ad over the weekend and thought the same thing. I would love Pontiac to endorse my company for free; it seems that it will be impossible to compete with Google’s incredible branding.
