Time has published its annual list of 50 coolest websites of the year. Google Spreadsheets made it into the top 50 in the “Staying Connected” category. Is it just me or do you get a feeling that Time just had to include something from Google? i don’t think you can go anywhere these days and find a “best of” list that’s longer than 25 that doesn’t have at least one Google item. It’s the nature of the beast right now. I think the site may qualify for one of the “lamest” websites of 2006, but “coolest” – not even close.
It is unfortunate that so many great ideas and services go unnoticed just because they didn’t come from the Googleplex…
