Google Updates Landing Page Quality Requirements

July 10th, 2006

Tags : Blog.

The Google AdWords team has announced new landing page quality standards. The update should affect only poor quality landing pages (remember those pages that have one sentence and a Google AdSense ad on them?). To make sure that you are not penalized for a landing page that does not fit the new standards, visit Google landing page and site quality guidelines.

Google began taking into consideration an advertiser’s landing page quality back in December 2005. This resulted in a higher minimum bid price for those affected. Now the requirements have been raised once again in the effort to weed out low quality ads.

Maybe all those spammy pages that people pay to put adsense on will sink to the bottom. I hate clicking on paid results, just to get a page filled with a search result of the phrase with adsense all over it.
