I would agree and disagree with you.
Yes reviews are important. But the trust is more important.
Yes reviews are good to build trust. But, are most reviews authentic?
The reason I ask this is quite frankly because it does not take many brain cells to slate your competitors. One real review from a customer saying you are great can be quickly punched out by one of your competitors saying you are rubbish. Which one do you believe?
Authenticity is the most important thing to me. The more I read web2 idiotspam the less I think of it. I certainly don’t trust sites that let anyone say anything about what ever they choose. Who are these people? What authority do they have to say this stuff?
Authority is build over time. It will take time for most people to see that most of web2 is nothing but rubbish.
