It’s an interesting concept, and could be useful for businesses, though the credit card would have to offer other business benefits like cash back on supplies and other business purchases.
Either way, they’ll need to do something more than search advertising to keep up their explosive growth.
I think you are thinking too small, Google need to create their own currency, the gPound for example.
Here is the master plan
Create the money
Distribute it to everyones google account electronically
Only allow people to spend the money via Google Checkout
Even better would be for Google to distribute VISA Electron cards (with the Google logo on it of course) and dump our Ad-Sense earnings on it every month.
Nice idea. Perhaps owning their own bank would be much profitable. The Google Bank or GBank. I mean the G is already in Gold.
That’s all aiming too low. Google is excellent at organizing information, right? (at least that’s their goal). How about organizing the world political stage? gOvernment…
That is a great idea – hooked up with my Google Checkout account it would be nice. very nice.
My first purchase? A new Mac Book.

So we don’t think Google is making enough money now? Or do we feel Google doesn’t have a controlling interest in enough aspects of lives that we would want them to have more of a financial impact? Google already controls information (don’t believe it? then you are being naive) and if we allow them into our credit history…well, that wouldn’t be a good thing. Just my two cents, which will never be on a Google credit card.
And what pray tell is wrong with a great American founded and operated company making a ton of money???
Google have turned our world around and have made many small businesses succeed in realms they could only once dream of.
All banks have your information, agencies and go find yourself on http://www.pipl.com it’s all out there.
The whole country should help keep Google strong as the tax dollars stay in the country – I could rattle on here but I just can’t understand your disrespect for two Stanford guys and a dream – that worked
I have started two small businesses using Google technology and am now disabled (not old just disabled) I would be unemployed if it wasn’t for Google…..
Now when is the Google Credit card coming
