Congratulations on the magazine. Any idea what other content you will cover in the premiere issue?
Not 100% sure on all of the articles yet but if you drop me an e-mail I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your interest.
I’m going to ask the question that people in the industry are considering, in an industry that changes as fast as the SEO/SEM industry does, how do you plan to keep a quarterly magazine current?
I’ve had people ask me this question over and over again. It is true that industry is moving so fast that everything changes within months and it is difficult to cover those changes with the magazine that comes out only 4 times a year.
It seems to be a common misconceptions in posts I’ve seen so far that Search Marketing Standard is going to be a professional magazine for SEM experts. We will be targeting anyone who is advertising with search engines including webmasters, any business owners who advertise with search engines, marketing executives and SEM consultants. We realize it is pretty difficult to cater for all of these groups at the same time. We are planning to discuss fairly advanced topics (no articles like “what is SEO” or “why do you need to advertise”) but we will try to keep it simple enough for someone like your clients to digest. We also plan to have at least one advanced article, touching upon something interesting even to an expert.
So if you are asking how we are planning to cover new features of MSN adCenter Beta then the answer is that we are not planning to, at least not until there is something solid to report about. Blogs do a great job covering such everyday things. If you are asking whether we will cover “SEO 101″ or “History of Google”, the answer once again is no. There are, however, plenty of topics that people don’t know about. Maybe not people like Danny Sullivan but owner of a online shoe store or even a marketing executive whose company decided to advertise on search engines. These people know the basics and at the same time they make very basic mistakes like pick wrong keywords, have no idea of landing page is, get involved with companies that offer Google ranking in 24 hours, etc. These are the things that we are going to cover. We plan to discuss some interesting topics like local search marketing and possibly even video search marketing and we are confident we will be able to deliver interesting and relevant information in a timely manner.
Good news. Would be great if the magazine can really capture the business side of the search industry, from SEM’s and engines.
Can’t wait for my first issue.
This magazine sounds really great, cant wait to see the 1st issue. I’ve been waiting for something like this…our industry is ripe now for pertnent info to come together in one place.
I use AdWatcher and find it indispensable, and I think the guys at Mordcomm definitely seem like ones who know how to make this magazine happen.
great idea. hopefully we could see a localised version of greek. congratulations. keep on the good work
All the best for the launch of a long overdue publication. I hope you get some proof-readers before then:
