No Referrer Information From Microsoft Live.com

Reports are coming in from major blogs and forums that Microsoft’s Live.com is not passing referrer information. This means that you won’t be able to measure the traffic coming from live.com.
Some people are also reporting that even MSN.com traffic is not showing up.

“I just checked and I don’t see any referrals from MSN (or Live.com) since 09/12/06. I just ran a test search there and it doesn’t have a referrer.

Interesting. I wonder how long it will take them to fix this. Ooops!”

So, is this an honest mistake on the part of Microsoft or are they trying to conceal the amount of traffic they are actually sending our way? With Microsoft’s market share falling, this might not be such a crazy theory … []
