We all fall victim to going after the next big thing while forgetting the basics. I was having a conversation the other day with a marketer about an upcoming local television campaign she was planning to run. I was explaining how her target audience is known to multitask with a smartphone or laptop propped up on their lap while watching TV. I suggested that she keep the television ad to one message, one offer, so it is simple, and then to keep consistency and relevancy with that message and offer on the website. Pretty basic – but with so much whirling around in our heads – it’s easy to forget.
