With the latest distribution deal, Yahoo! will be the default search engine on all Acer computers. Acer is the top supplier of notebooks in Europe and is the world’s 4th largest notebook maker. Acer says that it will begin shipment of computers with Yahoo!’s search engine as early as October 1st.

This deal is viewed as a response to Google’s string of distribution partnerships, including Dell, Adobe and yesterday’s deal with Intuit.

Definitely good news for Yahoo! advertisers. The deal should give Yahoo! a healthy boost in traffic and potentially improve its market share. []
