Yahoo! Loses Its Voice

Three days … unbelievable. The problems that caused the ad management center at Yahoo! Search Marketing to be down for three days (yes, that’s three DAYS, not hours) are just the tip of the iceberg. Can you imagine not being able to access your PPC account for three days or having just launched a test page that you immediately realize is doomed, yet being unable to fix it for three days? Well, a lot of people have just had that experience and they are not happy campers.

Reportedly not even account representatives could access the controls to make changes to ad campaigns. So if you had an ad running that cost you $1 per click that you were just about to disable; were conducting a test of new keywords; or have a campaign that you wanted to turn off at nights – you were just plain out of luck. Imagine your surprise if once the “lights came on again” your account was seriously depleted.

Yahoo! is in the doghouse on this one. Anyone have a MilkBone?
